Key Stage 4 Curriculum

Years 10 & 11

Montsaye Academy provides a breadth of options to enable students to explore specialist subjects whilst maintaining a strong focus on the core subjects that will inform future career pathways. Students will study a two year Key Stage 4 curriculum that will prepare them for the final examinations at the end of Year 11.

Students demonstrating sustained progress at Key Stage 3 will have evidenced their ability to apply new learning to subjects such as Computer Science, Business Studies, Psychology and Separate Sciences.

The EBACC pathway is available to all students and is strongly recommended to those showing sustained progress in Science and French (Triple Science EBACC pathway or Combined Science EBACC pathway). All students will choose from History or Geography to complete their Key Stage 4 range of subjects.

Our curriculum is designed to ensure students secure their GCSE and Level 2 qualifications that will support them in moving on to a Key Stage 5 curriculum at Montsaye Sixth Form or another alternative setting. The aim of our Key Stage 4 curriculum is that all students have the opportunity to secure the keys to unlock the future pathway they desire.

Students are given the opportunity to discuss their future throughout Years 10 and 11 through consultations with Mrs Knight (Careers Lead).

Our Key Stage 4 curriculum has a strong academic core of EBACC subjects supported by our broad range of options. The current subjects studied are found here.
