Student Leadership Team

Our Sixth Form Leadership Team act as role models and ambassadors for the school, and work closely with the Principal and Head of Sixth Form. Student leadership roles are designed to give our students an opportunity to step up and take on additional responsibilities. They meet with the Head of Sixth Form to discuss implementations that can benefit the Sixth Form and the wider school.

We appoint a Head Boy and Girl from Year 12, who are supported by a wider team of Student Leaders.  Students go through a formal selection process, including completing an application form, contacting referees, and a final interview panel; this is an excellent addition to a students' personal statement.

Our current Head Girl and Boy, Meghan and Charlie, tell us a little bit about themselves below:

Meghan
I am currently studying English Language, English Literature, and Health and Social Care. After my A-Levels, I plan to continue my studies of English at university and then I would love to become an English teacher.

I wanted to become our Head Student as I have a genuine love for the school. I want to help others see my school in the same light I do. I have experienced how much the school has improved over the years, and I want to be a part of this growth and change as the school moves forward even more.

Alongside helping the school improve and giving as much as I can to the school community, I am keen to develop myself in terms of the valuable skills that this role will give me. I want to develop my confidence and public-speaking skills; something I have had to put into practice many times already!

Charlie
I am currently studying Psychology, Sports Studies and Health & Social Care. After my A-levels, I plan to pursue a degree in either Psychology or Social Work. This is fuelled by my passion to want to help and support others in all walks of life, hence why I would like to integrate this into my future career path.

I wanted to become our Head Student because I see it as an honour to represent this school, both inside the school and as the public face within our community. Helping and supporting others is a priority of mine and something that I am keen to do. I also see the position as an ideal way to develop my skills and improve my confidence, which will be beneficial to my future.

As Head Student, I want to encourage students to maximise both their academic and social potential. I would like to promote the sixth form, and indeed the whole school, through various methods, such as stakeholder engagement, unique campaigns and identifying areas of improvement.
