Welcome from the Principal

Welcome to Montsaye Academy, a proud member of United Learning and a school community where character and excellence are carefully and deliberately developed in every student.

I am immensely proud to lead Montsaye Academy and to work alongside dedicated staff, supportive families and inspirational students. Together, we are building a school where character is valued, success is expected, and excellence is achieved.

Our vision is clear: “To be a successful school of character and excellence.”

Our mission drives our daily work: “To provide a safe and trusting community where success is the norm.”

“We Are Montsaye” – is the collective identity that drives everything we do.

At Montsaye, we believe that academic success and strong character go hand in hand. Education here is about far more than qualifications alone; it is about shaping young people who are resilient, thoughtful, compassionate and ready to contribute positively to society.

Our core values of Respect, Honesty and Compassion sit at the heart of a carefully designed character programme that runs through every aspect of school life. This programme is explicit, visible and intentional - from assemblies and tutor time, to lessons, enrichment, leadership opportunities and pastoral support. We place a clear focus on helping students develop strong study habits, positive decision‑making skills, leadership, service to others and an understanding of values and virtues that will guide them throughout their lives.

Our broad and ambitious curriculum supports students from Year 7 through to Sixth Form, combining academic challenge with personalised support so that every learner can thrive. Alongside subject knowledge, we prioritise character, self‑discipline and aspiration, ensuring students are well prepared for future study, apprenticeships, employment and adult life. In our Sixth Form, students benefit from a wide range of academic and vocational pathways alongside strong individual guidance and leadership opportunities that develop both confidence and independence.

Student voice and leadership are central to life at Montsaye. We actively encourage students to take responsibility, contribute to their community and strive for excellence in all they do. Safeguarding and wellbeing underpin every decision we make, ensuring our academy remains a safe, supportive and trusting environment where students feel confident to succeed.

Beyond the classroom, students benefit from exceptional facilities, including the Montsaye Sports Centre – a modern, well-equipped hub for both the academy and the local community. With a 3G football pitch, gym, sports courts and a wide range of clubs and activities, we provide rich opportunities for character development through sport, enrichment and wider participation.

I hope that you have found our website helpful and that it has provided a clear insight into the values, opportunities and community that define Montsaye Academy. I very much look forward to working in partnership with our families and wider community, and to welcoming you as part of our Montsaye journey.

We Are Montsaye
