Academic Grammar Stream

At Montsaye Academy, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to fulfil their potential. Our Grammar Stream has been created to provide additional challenge, enrichment and support for our most academically able students within the inclusive environment of a comprehensive school.

Designed for students who are ready to excel, the Grammar Stream offers an ambitious academic experience alongside a rich program of enrichment activities. Students benefit from enhanced learning opportunities, additional subject challenge and experiences that help prepare them for success at GCSE, sixth form, university and beyond.

Alongside an enriched curriculum, students take part in activities such as debating, STEM projects, language learning, educational visits, leadership programs and guest speakers, helping them develop confidence, curiosity and a lifelong love of learning. To enable all this to be achieved, students are expected to commit to four afterschool sessions per week.

As part of a comprehensive school, the Grammar Stream remains flexible and accessible. Students' progress is reviewed, ensuring opportunities remain open to those who continue to demonstrate the commitment, effort and academic potential to thrive within the program. Students not initially selected to take part can access the enrichment program where spaces allow.

Our aim is to inspire ambitious young people to achieve exceptional outcomes, develop their unique talents and leave Montsaye Academy ready to make a positive impact on the community and world around them.
